Join the Society for Music Perception and Cognition

Membership in the Society is open to all who are interested.

SMPC members receive biweekly digests with news on conferences, job/student opportunities, and other information pertinent to our field. They also receive discounted registration at SMPC conferences, and faculty members can request to be included in the SMPC Map of Music Cognition and Music Psychology Labs.

Society fees are $40 for a two year period, and you may pay for as many years (in multiples of two) as you like. A $1 service charge (per two-year period) is added to assist in covering the administrative costs related to this convenience.

It is easy to use a PayPal account to submit your SMPC dues using a credit card or bank account. Just click on the appropriate PayPal button below, based on whether you or not you are a student. In the "Quantity" field of the shopping cart that appears, simply enter the number of two-year periods for which you wish to provide payment.

To submit your payment, please click on either the non-student or student button below, based on your current status.  Though both memberships cost the same low $20 per year, this helps us to better track the demographics of our organization.

If you prefer, you may pay your dues the "old fashioned way." Click to download SMPC Membership Renewal Form. Provide the requested information and mail the completed form along with a check for $40 per two-year period, and mail it to:

The check must be made out payable to "SMPC" or "Society for Music Perception and Cognition." The preferred method of payment is PayPal, as any international currency may be used to submit your dues payment online.  Payments by check can be accepted from Canadian banks (in either US$ or CN$) and in the following currencies: Euros (€), British pounds (£), or Japanese yen (¥).  Members who wish to remit dues through a wire transfer to the SMPC bank account or using other currencies should contact the Treasurer for further instructions.
