They received their PhD in 2019. In addition to their extensive mentorship of undergraduate students, since their graduation, this person has worked in data science and has volunteered extensive time, effort and expertise to mentoring PhD students hoping to find industry positions.

They lead the Data Science Boot Camp at the Erdos Institute, which aims to connect PhDs with industry careers. In this program, they lead mentorship of ~350 PhDs and 10 mentors, to prepare PhDs for industry by creating and documenting a data science project for their portfolios.

This person was also the driving force behind the SMPC/Erdos collaboration, helping to create the ongoing and successful music cognition track of their Invitation 2 Industry speaker series; and also co-chaired the Future Directions of Music Cognition Conference in 2021.

This award recognizes the outstanding nature of their mentorship work, and the importance of mentorship relating to industry career paths.
